artsy fartsy...

There is a great organization that we heard about through my brother in law, Andrew. It is called the Wishing Well Project and what they do is dig and build wells in Africa where there are so many people dying from lack of clean water...the statistics are amazing...or rediculous and so they are raising money to build as many wells as possible. Right now they are focusing on digging wells in Ethiopia and so of course, that hit close to home. It is a noble cause and we were excited to hear about it so that we could be a part of making a differrence. One of the ways they are raising money is by selling artwork that college students have made for this very purpose. We went to an art show a few weeks ago and found so many that we loved! We are going to frame them and hang them in Malak's room...I think it will be pretty sweet! I wanted to share all of this with you because I know there are so many adopting families who may be interested in helping and also having some cool artwork to honor the home of our babies! You cannot buy the artwork on their website yet, but I know they're in the process of getting it up and running- so check it out!

Did you spend a million dollars?:) What great pictures!! What a great opportunity!

No, we actualy ended up getting prints because most of the pieces that we like were the size of out car...so it worked out well to just buy prints for like 20 bucks each.

Yeah it took me a long time to paint all of these. But I knew it was a worth while effort because of where the money was going. Being such a talented artist has its costs and its rewards. A blessing and a curse really.
Anyway, I'm glad that you and Eric were able to purchase some.

I love the art! Especially the Africa on and the Tree. I can't wait to see it in your room!

P.S. I have been praying for you lately, specifically that you will get your referral by Christmas. Just wanted you to know someone out there was thinking and praying for you:)

T! I am so glad you posted this! Did E tell you that two of those are the exact paintings I bought for the SGA office before I left?! We have such good taste!

If anyone else wants more info about this project or who to get involved or donate let me know and I will give you all the details!

I read that...but I am not sure where that information is coming from. I think it is more like 8 weeks. You wait a couple of weeks to get a court date...you have a court date a few weeks after that...and you travel about 3 weeks after the court date. I don't think it will take 12 weeks. I mean look at Courtney and Lindsey. They got Ian's referral at the end of October, they got a court date 2 weeks later, their court date is Dec. 6th and they are to pick him up Jan. 1. So...that is 9 weeks. Plus, the courts are still playing catch up from the closure. I really don't see that it will be 3 months...but let me know what Mary says anyway.
