MALAK
I made this this weekend for malak's room! I don't want to toot my own horn but...toot toot. :) It was a fun and simple project that anyone can make so easily! Here's how- I bought these cardboard type letters at Hobby Lobby (only like 2 bucks each), then picked out cute scrapbook paper that matched his room. (maybe .50cents a sheet) Then just trace your letters onto the paper and cut 'em out and paint some Mod Podge (it is a glue type stuff that dries completley clear) on your letters and glue that paper down. As soon as they are glued on just paint on more Mod Podge over the top and sides to seal it and make it shiney and you're done! Oh, I also painted the sides of my letters brown so they didn't look like cardboard and I did that before I glued the paper down. I thought I would share the idea since it would be simple for even the un-craftiest person! And there are so many cute paper designs out there to choose from- they really look very cool and professional when you're done.

I love it, love it, love it! I have been wanting to do this for Nathan and Sophie's Room (girly for her...boyish for him...but similar colors). I just didn't want to have to paint the designs by hand...this is a great idea! I am going to do some too. I will post a picture when I do mine so you can see. Thanks for the great idea! Amy
This is so funny, I just did the exact same thing for my kiddos, you can check it out on our blog. Yours look great. And it was so easy.
So cute! I might have to copy you...we shall see how they turn out. When you say un-crafty, that is being nice regarding me:-)
Guess what? I just went to Joanne Fabric today and bought letters too! I'm also going to do the mod podge stuff! Great minds think alike. They look great!
Very creative...I was looking at similar letters on a website and they were like $65 EACH! I may give this project a try...thanks for the inspiration!
cutie tara!
Try it guys, try it! Even if for some reason it bombs, I think the whole thing cost only $12.00!
I consider myself a pretty crafty chick but I've never used Mod Podge before. Maybe I need to give it a shot. :)
They look great!
hmmm, may have to try it! looks too cute :) I saw this on keva's blog and thought it was super cute too. i'm not very crafty though!
cool! you are so smart!! I love em.
you + me = sara apple seed
I'm so un-crafty, as you put it. I am, however, cheap. And I'd like to do some letters for our little person too. I'll solicit the help of my more useful mom and sister and share our results too... Thanks for the tutorial =)
oh so cute. Love the colors.
Very Cute...I was supposed to do that for Kaylin's room last September and I still have not, now I'm inspired to do it this September...only a year later. I am going to do the words Smile,Laugh and Dance for her wall.
Love the paper you chose!! Cheryl
Too Cute...Too Too Cute.
Want to do lunch again this week?? Or maybe just coffee??
I am sooo going to copy!!
T, your blogmunity is so large!
Okay I have to chime in too. you have inspired me to try this. i can barely even color in the lines so lets see how it goes.
Thanks for sharing-
I am going to give it a go too!!! I loved the simple instructions!
you've been tagged, look at my blog. :)
You guys rock! Thank you so much for your support and I love the letters. I ordered from Pottery Barn and they are not nearly as cute.
You are going to have to do another post soon..this one is full up with comments!!!
Six weeks, my goodness how time passes so quickly! I hope that things will start to move now that the new year is here. It seems that things have been at a stand still for 6 or 8 weeks now. I am ready for the flood gates to break open and referrals to start flowing out. A family just returning from Addis a week or so ago said that the Gladney house has 17 babies there!! 17 babies...couldn't just one be Ian Parker??? I am always afraid that someone will get a referral and not post ASAP!!! Not the case here, when I get the call, a long call chain will be initiated and the blog will be updated!!! Ohh, come on Natalie...give us a call!!!
You do need to post a new blog post...just so we can fill that comment section up too :) I am just as excited for you too (love the teary eyed comment!). I am counting down with you to your fingerprint appointment! I hope you get your I-171H back really really fast...I want us to travel together...wouldn't that be so fun? Amy
Very cool! I made my letters for MalĂa's, too, but slightly diffrently. I printed them out on the computer on pretty paper, then framed each in its own colourful frame. You can see it here: http://www.toadfire.com/permalink/3152/12048 if you'd like :)
