Sweeeet room!

I feel like I may have posted pics of Malak’s room before…but I can’t remember and it has been requested that I do it, so I will! I have also been waiting for a court date for 5 ½ weeks and so I have NOTHING else to write about. But YAAAY for my sweet friend Becca Albertson who FINALY got a court date today!!! (after a mere 6 1/2 weeks)

Notice the little elephant rocking chair? Eric’s parents gave that to us and it is straight from Africa! Hmmm, peeeerfect…..
And see the cute little airplanes flying (or hanging) around the room? Er made those- he likes to make model ships and planes as a hobby and so he has been working on a few special ones for Malak’s room. When Charles (the little guy I nanny for) comes over and naps in Malak’s room he LOVES the planes and when he is falling asleep I can hear him in there saying, “cool planes, cool planes…”. Seriously. I think it is a sign that Malak will love them too.

Please don’t judge me. The room is not quite finished. I still have some changes to make and I still need to hang a few more things on the wall…but you get the idea.

Here is Malak’s crib and cute bedding (which is from Dwell Baby and they have some GREAT stuff if you are on the prowl for some modern stylin bedding) The monkey that is hanging out in the crib was a Christmas gift to Malak from sweet uncle Drew. He made him at Build-A-Bear and he wanted to name him something that sounded African…so he named him, Mabumbo Bagumbo Keza . This may make it sound like uncle Drew is 11 yrs old, but he is in fact a well rounded 22 yr old…just a funny 22 yr old. We love that weird guy. And of course we love Mabumbo Bagumbo Keza. (although, I can never remember his name so it always ends up being something like, Mugungo Gagungo Keza...but whatever.

P.S. After I wrote this post I got an update on Malak from Mary!! (oh how I love Mary...) she said that he is up on all fours and is ready to crawl!!!! My little teeny four month old son is trying to crawl??!! They also said that this morning he was on his belly staring at his picture of mommy and daddy cooing and talking to us....he loves us!! :) Heehee, cutest ever!

P.P.S. Is anyone else going to the Gladney True Colors seminar this weekend?? Or the 120th anniversary on the 29th?? I sure would love to meet my blog friends...

I love it! You did a FAB job with his room.

I'm going to have to dig back thru your old post and find the one about how to make those letters you have in his room.

Wow! It looks fabulastic! How long did it take you to do this? I'm wondering if I should start changing things around now? We've got a crib, but the guess bedroom/nursery convert hasn't even been touched yet...

It warms my heart that he loves your picture so much! I hope he loves Mabumbo Bagumbo Keza equally as much. Okay, maybe not as much, that might be weird.

The room looks awesome. If you send me a pic of Malak I can go through my photos and see if I have one. I tried to get all the babies when I traveled in January. Hoping this upcoming week brings a court date.
