Best. Day. Ever.

Here is how it all went down...
I was at work and Charles (the little guy I nanny for) was down for his nap. I was vegging in front of the t.v...watching something on TLC about a family who had 16 children- they of course, ground their own wheat to make their own bread and had a ginormous garden that they lived off of ect. ect...this may actualy be a secret dream I have. To be a super duper healthy crazy mom. Maybe, I am still considering it.
My cell phone was sitting next to me charging and it rang. Of course I didn't think it would be Mary because it was MLK Day, so she would probably be out of the office, but that Mary, she tricks you! She did it, she called when I least expected it!
I saw that the caller ID said "unknown" and I may have accidently said, "Holy crap!!"...or something along those lines anyway. :)
Here is how the conversation went:
Me: Hello (in a nervous voice)
Mary: Tara?
Me: Yeees. (in a nervous voice)
Mary: This is Mary...
Me: It is??! (in a crying squeeky voice)
Mary: Yes and I am calling because I have a baby boy for you!
Me: You do??! (in a even more crying squeeky voice)
Mary: Yes, is Eric with you?
Me: "No" Sniff sniff "he" sniff "is" sniff "at work" sniff.
Then I basicly just said that I would call her back in about 20 minutes when Eric arrived.
Then, I called Eric. It went like this:
Er: Hello?
Me: Er, we got our referral! (in a sobbing squeeky voice)
Er: Shut up!
Me: We did, we got our referral! (in a snotty sobbing squeeky voice)
Er: I will be right there!
And then I proceeded to cry and bawl and call the rest of the family and they cried and bawled with me. (all this going on while I am pacing in circles in the kitchen because I don't know what to do with myself) It just so hapened that all of eric's family had the day off (for MLK) and they all happened to be in the neighborhood at a movie. They ran out of the movie early to be a part of the action. They made us wait until they all got there until we could call Mary back to hear about our son! So when they arrived (it seemed like it took forever but I am pretty sure it was about 3 minutes) we called Mary and got all the juicy details about our sweet son and saw his BEAUTIFULL face...it was amazing to finaly have a face to go with the name that we had had for so long! The first picture that came through on the email was one of him sun bathing out in the yard and he is as naked as a jay bird...that was a lovely first view of our babe! Heehee!
But we are completely smitten by him and just sit there and stare at his face often. He's got big eyes and big dimples and a little bit of fuzzy hair. His skin is really dark and looks so soft and smooth...I can't wait to hold him and touch his sweet skin!
After calling everyone and emailing everyone we all went out for a big celebratory dinner...it was glorious. I got a HUGE steak (because that is what you do when you celebrate, right?) and ate about 4 bites of it because I was so excited!
Best. Day. Ever.

I can't get over how adorable he is, and I'm so, so happy for you guys to finally have your baby on his way home.

This made me cry. Which, since you don't know me probably doesn't mean a lot, but know this, I am devoid of emotion and never cry. But this made me cry. I can't wait to be there. We have been waiting 7.5 months for a referral with WHFC.

Congrats, I am thrilled for you and your cute family. :)

hey that is such great news!! I am SO happy for you guys! Kim emailed me a pict and he is a cuttie pa too ti. God is good, though sometimes not fast enough (in our eyes) at bringing our blessings (or in Jason and I's case REALLY FAST like the day of the wedding fast lol) but he always gives us what our hearts desire.

Congrats again and God bless.
