We have fingers and prints...

Fingerprints. Check.
We FINALY went to our local Homeland security office today and got officialy fingerprinted! We had to take Charles with us so that was fun...but not so much. (for any new readers, that is the little guy I watch everyday) Anyway, I fed him lunch right before we left for our appointment so he would be full and happy. He ate homemade chicken strips, green beans, some yogurt and juice. One might think that that would fill such a little guy up...Nope. As soon as we got to the office he want to leave the office and run down the hall wherever his little legs would take him. But of course I have to stay in the office and listen for my number to be called- not to mention the place is laden with security so I felt a little wierd about him wandering the very official halls. Thank the Lord I have a Mary Poppins type purse that was filled with food and other random "necessities". The only thing that would keep him somewhat quiet and in "our" office was a banana (or 2) a bowl of applesauce, a bag of fruit snacks, The Little Mirmaid (which was playing for our viewing enjoyment in black and white) and a toy motorcycle that saved the day.
Anyhoo, that was our fascinating time at fingerprint headquarters. Please Lord please let them have been OK so we don't have to re-do them....I would probably cry. We are so close to being in the "waiting" club and any hangups now would crush this little spirit! Oh, and also pease Lord please let our I-171H come super duper quick. Please!

Yea! Did they do them electronically or on paper? Sounds like the little man that you babysit for is giving you some good mommy training. Way to be prepared too...your going to be a great mom! I am hoping right along with you that your I-171H comes back really soon! I want you to be "waiting" too! Amy

You're one step closer. Congrats! Enjoy these last few months. Go to all your favorite restaurants, the movies, read books and get lots of sleep. I hope your approval arrives soon.

Hope you got my address for the shower...can't wait! And, I met some of your friends from Bridgeway. I was telling them that we were adopting from Ethiopia and they were all "oh, do you know eric and tara?" :)

It was Katie, I think, that asked me about you. Cole is her husband, but not sure of their last name!

Christopher did the talking. Steven just asked us where we were adopting from and if we had picked out a name. I didn't want to post this on our site (just because I don't like to talk so specifically about money) but we received a grant from them...on stage. So, all I said was...thank you soooo much. It wasn't nerve racking at all for me...just really really special. Steven prayed specifically for Nathan on stage...that was really neat to...something I will look forward to telling him one day. Then, we got to spend some time backstage with he and his wife talking for a bit. It was all just really neat...a great memory.

Names....hmmm. I like different, not common names. My other kids are Addison (it wasn't common 7 years ago...thanks, Greys Anatomy) and Canaan. We're thinking about Mercy. It's something that came to me in my quiet time with the Lord one day before I got pregant with Canaan and was really wanting to adopt back then. Sean isn't sold on it. Addison wants her name to be Macy. I'm not sure if I like it. Any suggestions? :)
