Italian Dinner Party...

Occasionaly, my sister in law, Jenn and I like to dote on our husbands and suprise them with a special dinner or fun activity that we wouldn't normaly do. Now our close friend Kim lives in town so she and her husband are apart of the "husband night". One time for "husband night" we had a Luau. We decorated the whole house with flowers and liues and made a huge tropical dinner that we ate on the floor- picnic style. It was complete with fresh pineapple, strawberries, Caribean salad, hawiaan bread, coctails...did I mention we ate in our hawiaan bathing suits? haha, seriously. Afterwords we went for a swim in the pool...hello, it was a luau...what else would we do??
Well, as you can see from the pics, last night was another "husband night". This time it was an Italian dinner party. When the boys got home from work the house was dark except for the light of tons of candles and the twinkle lights hanging over the table. We gave them peach Belini's to sip on as they ate bruchetta, and fresh basil and tomato pizza. After the h'orduerves we all sat down to eat Ravioli with brown butter balsamic sauce, pesto linguini, spaghetti with meat sauce and italian salad and homemade bread.
It was all delicious. Then we had desert (which we forgot to take a picture of, dang.) it was Canoli dipped in chocolate with cinamon gelato and we drank Limonata- a fizzy italian lemonade. oh so good...mmm
Oh yeah and as we digested and felt like barfing from eating so many carbs, we watched the movie, "The Italian job". (great movie by the way) It was a wonderful night to remember! Wish you all could have been there!

You must be super-wife or something. Cortney isn't allowed to read this post because he may realize what he is missing out on!!! I really don't even need a kitchen, if you just put a microwave in the living room we would never know the difference!!! We have been picking out cabinets and I am clueless about what we need because that is the one room in which I spend the least amount of time!!! You have one VERY blessed husband!!!

What a FABULOUS idea. I may have to start having "husband night" too. :) Everything looks great. Did you cook all that yourselves? I'd totally order Macaroni Grille takeout. :)

We did cook it all ourselves, but Macaroni Grill would have been a great idea! hmm, next time... :)
Guys, don't get too carried away with how great of a wife I am...you should all note that we do this occasionaly, which also means rarely. This is not like a once a week type thing! Although i would be the greatest wife ever if i did that...

jenna has a little bruise across her cheek from when she tripped over the cord of the fan. :( who knew you could bruise your cheek.
