Last week we hit an adoption milestone. Malak was almost 8 months old when we picked him up in Ethiopia and we just realized that he has been home for over 8 months now....this means that he has been with us longer than he was in the orphanage. I love that, love, love that my baby is with his family forever and not in an orphanage waiting for us to come for him.
So here are some of his tiniest baby pics...
My son in his lovely (and very manly) pink blanket.
This was our referral picture the very first time we saw his face....
And here is my sweet boy today...all grown up. (or 16 months old)

Okay, he was such a cute baby but his curls make him even so much cuter now...well, along with that adorable smile! Happy milestone!

Such a cool thought- made me realize that we almost have too. We got Abe at 5 1/2 months old and he will be 11 months on the 11th of this month!
He is too cute!

Love him. Love that he mistakingly called the old mailman Daddy.

What a cute post.. Ahhh we are still waiting for our call! :(
P.S. I tagged you on my blog. I swear it is short and fun :)
I can't get over how tiny his little cutie arms are in the second picture or how little he looks in his referral picture!
I love that little Malak Kidus! And I agree with Kerri...the curls are perfect.

Thank you for sharing those adorable photo's! I can't believe he has grown-up so quickly. He looks like a little man :)

Cindy
thank you girl! I'm a wreck and feel like I could puke at any moment! Love you!!
These are awesome pictures Tara! You and the mailman did good work there. :)
So this is really random...
I don't remember how or when I came across your blog, but I read it occasionally.
Did you happen to be at the OKC zoo last Thursday? (Feb 26) As I was going in (at the member's entrance) someone held the gate open for me so I could push my stroller through. At the time, I thought, She looks familiar, but I couldn't figure out why or how. I'm sitting at work this morning and it just hit me that it was you I was thinking of. So anyway, if it wasn't you, this is probably really weird, but if it was, Hi. And I promise I'm not stalking you!
Tara, you don't know me. I found you through a round-about way...I found your blog through Drew's who I found through Summer who I found through...I don't remember. Anyway - I've been following your journey with Malak since before you picked him up in Ethiopia. I don't check in too often but wanted you to know that whenever I do check in, I always leave with such a big smile! Your lil man is so precious! Thanks for sharing your journey with everyone!
I know facebook is your new love...but you really should update this thing. Just sayin.
Also...are you around this weekend? I might just bring the West Wing to you. I am finishing Season 1 and wanting to watch Season 2. So it's win-win.
There are some of those tiny pics that I've never seen! What else are you holding out on (besides the mailman)? We demand ever picture ever taken of Malak. I thought you understood that.
This made me cry! I love Malak, and love that he has been with you for longer than he was in the orphanage! What precious parents you are!!!!
