From Ashes To Africa and more...

Have you read this yet?? If not, you need to! Our dear, sweet friends Josh and Amy Bottomly wrote it, it's the story of their journey through a tough first year of marriage, infertility, reconciliation, having a heart for the less fortunate in our world and the blessed process that brought them to adopt their sweet son Silas from Ethiopia! It is beautifully written and will prick your heart on so many levels. Even if you are not going through things like infertility or adoption, you will be moved by the openness and candor of their story and feel the tenderness of their hearts. It would also be a huge blessing to anyone you may know who is going down these difficult paths. Order your copy here.
The other day I was sitting on the couch...let it be known that Malak DOES NOT like when Eric or I sit on the couch. It means that were not on the floor playing with him, and thus is a GRAVE mistake. He lets the whole neighborhood know that he does not approve and screams bloody murder. :) So, I made the mistake of sitting on the couch and he started throwing a tantrum, but after just a minute of crying he laid himself down at my feet, put his thumb in his mouth and fell asleep. Right there, on the livingroom floor, Justin Timberlake playing loudly on the stereo....fell asleep. Poor little fella was all tuckered out! I guess tantrums wear you out. I know they wear me out... :)
Mal has recently decided that he LOVES to wear my headbands. He asks me to put them on him and when I do he gives me a giant cheesy smile as if he knows how faaabulous he looks. Most of the time he doesn't want just one on, but as many as he can find. He hasn't learned the art of less is more in the accesory department... and yes, he likes to carry around my animal print wallet while sporting the headbands. It's all part of his look.
Luckily for Eric, our son doesn't always want to wear feminine jewelry and also LOVES to wear his daddy's hats. And that's just precious.

Okay, my SECOND favorite part to ANYTHING you tell me about Mal, is the fact that you said "Poor little fella was all tuckered out!"

Yes this book was very moving, it will stay in my "collection." Love this little boy. He just has such the purest face...I'm sure he is mischevious but finds his way out through a little Silvestri smile!!!
