Zoo and Fall....

Precious boy...

I took these of Mal a few days ago as we were heading out to the Zoo. We end up going to the Zoo at least once a week, either with friends or just mommy and Malak time and it is so much fun! We head out early in the morning while it is still cool outside and even bring our breakfast and eat on a bench while we watch the animals. It is sooo nice and peaceful and enjoyable! I have started just using the sling instead of the stroller when we go so that I can really show Malak everything and play with him as we walk around...I think he just likes being held and cuddled for so long! :) Our Zoo passes here in OKC are only $40, so it obviously pays for itself after about 2 trips!
Funny thing: The gorillas LOVE Malak! Seriously. I always let Mal stand up to the glass to watch them and every single gorilla will come over to the glass where he is and pat the glass and kiss the glass! Even the big daddy Silverback will sit and stare at him and play with him! It is so funny and we both get a big kick out of it. Malak+gorillas=Best friends 4ever.

Just doin' our morning exercises....

and reach....

and stretch.....
It is finaly Fall in Oklahoma!! It has been wretchedly hot (I am talkin' 100 degrees) here up until a few days ago and now it is crisp and cool and lovely outside. I seriously want to be outside all. the. time. This morning I had the front and back doors open and so a crisp breeze was blowing through the house. I was baking cinamon apples with rasins for Malak's lunch and so it just smelled Fall-y...there is pitcher of tea brewing out in the sun and the smell of lemon bars in the oven is tempting me to eat every single one of them. Mmmmm. I love Fall.

I couldn't agree more! All my windows are open today. That's one nice thing about hurricanes...they leave beautiful weather when they're done. I finally feel the cool, dry air of fall. Yaaaaay. :-)

It all sounds lovely. Precious times going to the zoo often, eating breakfast there, being together . . . then add cool fall air and fall food treats , pumpkins (I've got my couple fake ones out) . . . add that all to being with your special little boy = heaven. Or close to it.

He is just getting so big and grown up! Exercising even! That's our boy! Advanced.

hugs,
Marm

That stretching move one of my favorites of his tricks...second only to his lip pucker/blowing trick, which gets me EVERY TIME! I love that guy.

I love fall too... We had soup on Saturday night, Sunday night, Monday night, and tonight. Thats right.

I am very sad that Malak has decided to nap during our last 2 playdates.

Maybe he will actually be awake on Thursday at the zoo.

MMMMM... I want to come to your house and eat. Fall is so wonderful- I love it! And we love the zoo too! Our zoo is free, but we're still members - free parking. Woohoo!

Yay for zoo passes! I was going to get one this year (because I for sure thought Eli would be home by now!), but I'll definitely be getting one in the spring! Our boys are going to love it :)

Tara,
Malak always has the cutest hats. I am trying to find some but am obviously looking in the wrong places because the only baby hats I find are for girls. Where do you get all this cute stuff?

I want to be at your house this very minute.

This is how it's fall to me... The sun is gone, the clouds are hovering and if you don't light a whole bunch of candles and play lovely music, you might want to sit in the bath and cry for a while, just because.

Just found your blog while surfing others. What a cutie patootie boy you have!!!

Okay Betty, I mean Tara. Can you send some of that fall weather over this way? Seriously I'm ready. The baking bug must be THE THING this year. I'm wanting to make pumpkin bread already and we're not even into November. My hubby made a boston creme pie last night, so yeah, its in the air. Just not in the temps yet!

Tara,
Sam and I went to the mall today to see if they had any more hats like Sam's. They didn't. I wasn't too suprised since I bought it on clearance at baby gap for $2.97. Then, I thought to myself, I'll just send Tara Sam's hat because he doesn't really wear it but wouldn't you know, I can't find it now. Shoot! If it turns up, I'm sending it your way. Hope you all are well!
take care,
Jen

How much fun to go to the Zoo every week. Those are the moments you will both always remember. Tomorrow is our daughter's birthday and we are taking her to the zoo.
Those pictures are too cute.

Can I buy the baby cuff in the second picture(the one with the pink background and little cut outs)? I went to your site, but it was not one for sale.
Do you have a matching one for me??

Thanks,

Leah

Fall is simply glorious especially in the morning! What a lovely routine you have with Mal. Sounds like the good old days when we were little and our moms made everything special. Reading your blog and seeing your mommy style = chicken soup for my soul ; ) (the cheese level was intentional just then but the sentiment still genuine.)

And Jen-
That bit about bath tubs and crying for no reason that was really sad. Equally sad is that I totally understand what you mean and have felt that way many times myself. Poopy Northwest weather.

Some kids at the school I work at were asking about adoption and wanted to see pictures of a baby from Ethiopia so I showed them your blog and they all wanted to adopt him. I had to break it to them that you already had! :) Very cute pictures!
