***If you were grossed out by this story, I may suggest that you not read this post***
Today we layed Malak down for his nap as usual. About 30 minutes later I heard him awake in there, but he was just playing and talking to himself so I let him have a little quiet time since it was such a short nap. (he usualy sleeps for at least 2 hours) After a while, Eric went to get him up and when he opened the french doors that lead to the bedroom/hallway, he was hit with a wall of stink. I could smell it in the livingroom and we were both scared as to what we might find inside Malak's room. Nothing could have prepared me to see our sweet sweet son laying in his crib- diaper off and laying next to his head...a massive amount of poop also laying next to his head. Poop was smeared all over the crib, black beans from the night before littering the sheets, smears all over his blankie, smears all over the bumper, smears all over aaall of the bed rails and of course, there lay my little boy, sweetly sucking his poop smeared thumb. Eric and I just stood there for a looong time, laughing and gagging until we finaly mustered the will to gingerly carry his smeared little body to the tub. While Eric scrubbed him to the bone, I scrubbed the bedroom. As if all this weren't enough, my dog decided to get in on the fun and kept trying to lick up tasty morsels as I cleaned. Nice.
I'm sorry this is not the most tasteful post ever, but hey, this is my life now! The good, the bad and the stinky. Just know that as this was all happeneing I was thinking of what a glorious blog it would be and I took pictures...upon careful review, I decided to spare you the pictures. It is for the best.
Maybe I will add a few newer cute pictures of Malak, so that you are left with a dose of his sweetness and not the thought of him eating his poop.

Now that is funny:-)!! Way to go Mal!!
That is funny. It would not be funny if my baby did it but since it is not my mess to clean it is funny. Poop eater or not he is the cutest thing I have ever seen (beside my own little babies of course, but just barely)

oh my...
just think of the stories you will have to tell him when he's older... and his dates!!
Thanks for the laugh!!!!
hilarious! And he is so cute.
LOL! I think you have a new title for your blog "my life..the good, the bad, & the stinky!" Thanks for sharing! Love the new pics too.

That is too funny...my daughter did the exact same thing this weekend...oh the joys of mommyhood :)
Too funny! He is soooo beautiful. That precious smile must make the poopy times better.
oh man. Been there before. Not fun! Just wait till you start potty training. The poop fun is just beginning.
Welcome back to the land of the living. I was about to track your tail down and make sure you were okay.
No disappearing like that again sister!
Welcome to motherhood! Just wait until he throws up all over you (sorry), but it happens. Once when my older two were young, we all had food poisoning at the same time. I was single and we were all throwing up. Of course the kids never make it to the bathroom, so I was gagging, trying to clean up after them...it was really sad. We all laughed later...MUCH later.
He looks like he is so grown up in his pictures. Cute, cute, little boy! Keep the posts coming...love to read about your sweet little family!
Wow you make me so jealous I don't have a baby yet! LOL
He is so cute! I love the way you guys dress him, he has some mad style!!!
had almost written you off.....:) glad you are alive and well. How did he get that diaper off? :)
ICKY! Well, every baby's got to do it at least once, right? Ugh!
The photos are absolutely darling!
Blechh. Hopefully, that's the only poop fest you'll have in 2008 :)
The new pics of Malak are sooo cute! I can't believe how long it's been since I've seen him. Hopefully he'll be at the queen tomorrow?? (along with you guys, of course!)
Glad to see you back. I was missing updates on your adventures. Personally, I think it is wonderful that you came back with a "hit the fan" story.
Ahhh..the glories of being a parent! Very funny story!!
I'm not even sure what I would do if I caught my sweet little munchkin sprawling in her own poop! Ahhh, the glory days of parenthood. The pics are super-de-duper cute!
I can only think of one thing to say...OH CRAP!!!
Tara, my oldest did this when she was a baby and I had no words either. The cleanup was the most fun part. I am a clean freak and spent about 2 hours detail cleaning her crib, wall and floor.
The story and the pictures were worth the wait!
You've officially been initiated into parenthood!
You know, I think most of us have been there, done that or, er, well, cleaned that.....it's a sort of parent christening, just a really gross one! See, now you can do anything! Bravo!
OMG, that is disgusting! But like you said, its your life and I should get prepared that it will be my life too when we bring home baby! Cute pic's and great to hear you post again.
this story cracks me up! we have had similar experiences! just think of it this way, you are now "officially" in the "poopy mom's club!" ha!

LOVED the post! Reality, hu? I have followed your blog through a friend and your family is beautiful and touched by the hand of God. May HE continue to bless your lives and allow you to see the humor in everyday too! Glad you could laugh about it ... and gag on the side ;o).
That is too funny! Especially the thumb-sucking. That's just icing on the cake.
And can I just say--he is THE best dressed baby ever!:)
Funny stuff! Not funny when you're cleaning it up, I'm sure, but funny for us to read. I think you should have had pictures. :) But I have a weird sense of humor.
As much as I look forward to referral day and actually getting our baby I do NOT look forward to THAT. But from what I heard it comes with motherhood, so if thats the case- BRING IT ON! :)
They need to make the tabs on all diapers to be like the ones on the G diapers!
I think you should become a writer! Your stories and the comments you leave are always entertaining/funny, interesting, or fun!
SICK.
yikes. less than two weeks before bringing home baby abey...that is a scary story!
Funny story. Why is t that EVERY kid has to do that at least once.
I loved his pictures.
mmm yummy.
remember that time you posted about poop and received a thousand comments?
haaaaaaaaaa--i'm still laughing! (only b/c something similar has happened at my own house:)
Too funny! That happened to us twice with Liam!
Can awesome, gross, sorry and haha...all be in the same sentence??! What a day!!!
You don't know me...we are friends of the "Love will bind us" blog and I have added you to my "fun to read" list. (and your little man is ADORABLE!)
Anyway, when I read this post, I found it very funny, but thought this won't happen to me (I hope). Well, I was letting my 8 month old's bottom air out a little from a diaper rash and when I turned around from the kitchen, I thought she had chocolate all over her face...NOOOOO. It was the other brown stuff and it was EVERYWHERE! (How does that happen in 2 minutes?!?!) I freaked and had to hollar for help from my 4 yr old, which did not turn out to be help. What did help?...thinking of your post. :) :) :) THANKS!
Oh sweet Jesus. You guys deserve some kind of parenting award for that clean-up! : )
