I'm not a girly man...

Don't judge my son. :) So he wears a little pink sometimes. So what. So he wears a pink shirt with pooffy sleeves and a butterfly on it...so what. :) Let's be honest, he looks pretty dang cute in pink and I have been inspired by his girly shirt to go on down to the Baby Gap and pick him up a new pink shirt. (Minus the pooffy sleeves and butterfly.) A cool one- maybe to wear with his plaid shorts and leather sandals..yes, I am picking out outfits already. :)
So, we have plane tickets reserved!! As of now we will leave on Friday the 23rd (yes, in 9 days) and come home on June 4th. Our anniversary is on May 26th and that is the day we will meet our son for the first time- crazy!
I am feeling a little overwhelmed right now...there is more paperwork to be done. (I know, just when you think it is over and you will never want to do paperwork again) There is the gather and packing of things, packing MANY suitcases worth of humanitarian aid for the orphanages, getting adoption announcements ready, baby proofing the house, making pediatrician appointments, buying all the last minute things for a baby and a trip to Africa, figuring out travel arrangements...the list goes on and on and in the mean time, were both working full time, obviously. Oh glory, this is going to be crazy. But YAAAAAY!

Packing, schmacking! Just get on the plane! I do think the blur over the next nine days will serve to keep your minds busy and, at least, a LITTLE distracted!
Prayers are still being offered, and I'm SO proud that you're a MOM. (You've been one for YEARS, but now you have the son to prove it!)
I've written a letter to my newest grandboy that I'll snail-mail to him. I'm just so exceted for you, Woodsky, and so proud.

Dad ... or Grandpa ... or Papa ... or Pops ... or ... who am I?

How exciting :-) I'm so happy for you guys. It was so cute, when my SIL adopted Zachary, my nephew, he was pictured in a pink onsie with a pink blanket. Our friend in GA, Laura, had a similiar outfit on her son, Max, when they had their referral picture. :-) God Bless!

No one can sport it like Malak Kidus can. I am still impressed by the way he pulled it off - pink, butterflies and a mouth full of formula and still GORGEOUS! :)

So so exciting that you're so close to having your son in your arms! I'm laughing at the pink butterfly shirt. We have hilarious pictures of Zoe wearing blue football apparel. As soon as we got there, I layered her in pink, but people still asked if she was a girl or boy -- so apparently, pink is not the universal indication of "girl." Oh, May 26 is Drew's b-day, so while we're celebrating him, we'll easily remember to think about you meeting your Malak for the first time. There's no better moment in life!

God Bless your days - your story brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. I LOVE reading about all of the families that God is bringing together an ocean apart. For those of us that aren't called or able to adopt our prayers are with you and thankful that God has pressed this precious call into YOUR hearts.

This is all so exciting! And I do believe I've seen more pink on men lately than ever. My 2 nephews asked for pink shirts their last birthday! Anyway, I just gotta say that I just love those dimples!

You are right - he's so handsome I didn't even notice the poofy sleeves or butterfly until you mentioned it ;)

Need I even tell you that I cry every time I think of you two getting to meet your precious son? I do. I can not believe the time has come. And...on your anniversary...God does know what's going on after all...LOL. I love the way God surprises us sometimes. This is really an event worth celebrating.

Congratulations!!!!!! (Again, I'm sobbing).

Oh - and all the super-cool boys in Ethiopia wear pink. :)

I seem to recall a frustrated post by a girl that goes by "amyde" about her little boy wearing pink and getting some girly comments about it, but lets face it, the pink accents that smooth silky brown skin like nothing else! I say go for it!! In fact I might be bee-bopping in to a Baby Gap near by to pick up a pinky for my Atticus!
