The story of our LOVE...

O.k. I have really been wanting to do a post of "Our Incomplete History", as I was tagged by Carey...and I felt like that would be such a fun post! I have intented to do so, but the problem was that back when we first got married we didn't have a digital camera, so I need to go through all of our old pics, find some good ones (or dorky ones), take them to my sisters house and scan them in and then write a blog about it all...so it was a little daunting, but fear not (as I am sure you were very afraid), it is done! It is actualy more the story of our love as Lori tagged me to do that as well. (Aren't you so glad I you don't have to look at the doll post anymore??)
This was taken at the beach, in Portugal. (before we were married and yes, I think we were 17 and 18 yrs old. Heehee.)
Here is out story in all her glory:

Right when I graduated from high school I shipped myself off to beautiful Lubbock, TX. (note my sarcasm) I was in Lubbock for almost a year going to a missionary training school. It was grand and fun and I learned lots and lots. Blah blah blah.

After I graduated I went to Lisbon, Portugal to work with the church there for about 2 years. I LOVED it there and happened to be working side by side with a the glorious Silvestri family. (tuh-dum!) The Silvestri's had a dashing young hunk of son who was almost a year younger than me and we were great friends but alas, I had a fiance back home. (gaaasp!!)

In the mean time Eric and I and a few other friends all hung out often and we had a great little foursome group that did everything together...BFF's. I love that we were the best of friends before we were anything else! After about two years, Eric and I both ended up moving back to the States at the same time (nooo, not together). When we were at the airport saying goodbye, he told me that he loved me...sniff sniff. :) I went home to Washington State and he to Oklahoma to go to school. In the mean time I broke off my engagment to the other young fellow and Eric and I kept in touch and talked on the phone alot and...oh, the good old long distant relationship...fun times. We vistied each other a few times and we grew closer and closer and closer until one day Eric decided to finish school in W.A. so we could be together again. (haleluia!) Eric moved to Washington and soon after, we took a big trip back to Lisbon to visit all of his family for a few weeks. One morning while we were there Eric woke me up early in the morning (5 am that is). It was pitch black outside and I was SO mad he was waking me up. (no really, I was mad) But he said we were going to watch the sun rise so I gave in and put on my cutest pair of Old Navy overalls, giant Doc Marten sandals, a baseball hat and off we went. (I know, I was a babe) We got to the beach and found a great little spot carved out in the beach wall where Eric spread out a blanket and brought out lots of yummy things like, champagne, strawberries, chocolates, croisants and a huuuuge boquet of a few dozen roses....it really was lovely and perfect! We ate, we drank and then he prayed over us and our relationship and asked the Lord to bless it. It was a precious prayer that I will never forget. Then, he got down on his knee and proposed....the ring box was upside down so I couldn't actualy see the ring, so it looked more like an empty box...but I got the idea and flipped it around. :) I was so happy and excited and could not stop smiling and so we kissed...alot...well it was more like him making out with my teeth, because I couldn't stop smiling. :)

He had brought spray paint and so we painted our names and the date and a heart on the beach wall took pictures. Graffiti is legal in Portugal and so it has been fun to go back years later and see it still there! We then went back to his parents house and all of our family and friends were there waiting for us with a big breakfast and engagement presents! After breakfast his mom took me to get my nails done so I could show off my ring and then we had engagement pics taken....it was the best. day. ever.

I can honestly say that I married my best friend in the whole world and we still have so much fun! Next month we will have been married 6 years and we still do the same stuff we did when we were dating and newlyweds...here are a few examples of random things we like to do together... ~Slumber parties, where we make a bed in the livingroom, bust out the junk food and watch a good movie.
~Dance, sing at the top of our lungs and rock out in the car when a great song comes on the radio.
~Set up our camping tent in the livingroom and "camp out". We eat hot dogs, drink beer, and sleep in our sleepingbags for the night.
~We LOVE to cook dinner together. We have so much fun taking our sweet time making a huge multi course dinner that when it is finaly done we can sit and enjoy together. Mmmm.

Anyway, we are so in love and that is the end of my story.

The end.

I think the beach photo is my fav too...I think Eric should dye his hair again...it's kind of a Justin Timberlake (early N-Sync years) look.

What a great story. Loved it. You two are so cute. I love that you camp in your living room. Malak is SO going to have the coolest parents. Well except Silas E. He has pretty cool parents too. But his mom doesn't like camping so we pretend we're at the Hilton and we make belgian waffles.

Oh and no dear......going no where. HELLO new blog only. Still have to put up with me.

Wouldn't miss Malak's journey for anything. Speaking of his cute face.....don't you need more pictures?

I'm a little curious what you left out... :)

And, isn't it fun that you are getting ready to add a whole new BIG chapter to your story! Little Malak will enjoy the living room campsite someday - I'm sure of it!

(I really have to get on this - Lori tagged me and I've got a bunch of pics to scan... just haven't made it that far yet. Maybe I'll be inspired by your love story :)

He was a wee babe in the Navy when we met....you know those men in uniform...HOT! HOT! HOT!......He's no longer in uniform but still a hot tamale if I do say so myself! :-) I LOVED your trip down memory lane! :-)
Blessings,
Kristy

Remember the little girl that saw you right before your wedding and said "Mom, look at the princess!"
And she was right - the princess found her prince!

Remember when you lived her in Vancouver and we loved it! Good times.

hi there friends. I'm actually into shoes and I have been searching as far as something that singular make. The prices seeking the shoes were approximately 320 dollars on every page. But finally I set this area selling them for half price. I exceptionally love those prada sneakers. I will absolutely purchase them. what can you say about it?
