***Revision below*** (but it's not a court date)
I have recently joined a co-op. Every other Monday I get a large bin of organic, locally grown fruits and vegi's. It is so wonderful and they really are so delicious- the picture above is of my glorious bounty that I got today. (haha, I am pretty sure that's the first time I have used the words "glorious bounty"...it was fun) This (seen in the picture above) is a full share- for $50.00. I know for us, we eat a ton of fruit and vegi's and spend at least that much every 2 weeks on produce, so we were really excited to be able to get GREAT quality organic locally grown produce that is so much better for our bodies- for the same price. In addition, it makes my grocery shopping so much easier, all I need to get is chicken, rice, pasta and such and I'm good to go! If this is too much for your family you can also do a half share which is obviously half of what you see above and that's only $25.00. It is quite inspiring to have such good healthy food in the house, it makes me want to find new recipes to use all this yummy stuff! It is actually a nation wide company called Your Health Source, and cities all over can or may already have a local co-op started.
Here is everything I received today...2 large bunches of Romain lettuce, 1 head of cabbage, one bunch of carrots, 2 avocados, 1 bunch of celery, 6 zucchini's, 1 bunch of broccoli, 12 Fuji apples, 6 tangelos, 1 bunch of banana's, 8 sweet pepper's, 6 Roma tomato's, 2 red onions, 10 oranges, 10 pears and 2 bunches of spinach. Phew. That's alot of food!
Is anyone else annoyed that we don't have court date yet?? Geez louise...6 weeks is ridiculous. I haven't blogged about the wait much, mostly because I feel like maybe if I don't talk about it, maybe I will forget that my son is getting older and bigger and sweeter without me. He is officially 5 months old now and we have come to the realization that he is going to be about 7 months by the time we actually meet him...that makes me want to cry. He was just a teeny weeny little 3 month old when we saw him for the first time and now...he is probably starting to fill out college application forms. Practically.
***Last night for dinner we made an amazing vegi pizzaout of our new loot...whole wheat crust with olive oil and garlic, fresh spinach, tomatos, onions, olives, pineapple, red peppers....devine. It was devine.

I am beyond annoyed that you don't have a court date. BOOOO! You know I'm also just sad that so many months will go by, since getting our referral, before we get to hold our baby boy. He's also a full 2 months older now than when we first saw him :(. But how comforting that our boys are in good hands. PRAYING for your court date to come this week!!!!! Can't wait!!!
And DUDE! We're thinking about joining the same kind of co-op. I'm very excited about that :).
love to you...
becca
That is definitely way too much fruits and veggies for this family for 2 weeks... We will in fact be splitting it. I need to get on it... I keep thinking that Bekah is taking care of it for me, but I might need to take some initiative. Looks delish.
Seriously, where is your court date????????????????????
We've waited 4 weeks for a court date now, and I really hope it's not much longer...Hopfully you'll find out when yours is very soon!!! (meaning tomorrow! :-)
wow that good looks amazing. I want to do that! Looks amazing! I'm inspired! Praying for a court date!!!!!
We totally understand your frustration on the court date!!! We ended up waiting almost 10 weeks for ours...but we believe it will happy sooner for you guys!! Nice meeting you on Saturday!
That produce looks fabulous! I wonder if we have something like that in Portland...surely in the great NW. We have friends that are involved in a chicken co-op and they get up every Saturday at 5am to feed chickens and get fresh eggs, I think they are crazy! Anytime you have to get up at 5am it can't be good!
I am praying for good news this week on your court date, its so painful to see our little ones growing up before our eyes.
I'm so sorry about the wait. We're still praying! Malak is on my screen saver so we remember to pray and Emmitt is always asking me "is baby Malak home yet?" I can't wait to tell him "yes!".
Your produce looks great! I'm picking mine up from my mom's today. I'm loving it because now I make meals around what I have vs. wandering aimlessly in the produce section...haha

I have been waiting for you to write this post about the court date- worked for the referral, and now hoping it works for the court date:)
We were in a co-op and loved it, can't remember now why we stopped!! The pizza sounds yummy.
That's awesome, I love the idea of the co-op, I may have to look into that!
I'm so annoyed that you haven't gotten your court date yet. Have they said why? I would be frustrated beyond belief! Anywhoo, I'm praying for you guys!

That is cool, my friend just told me about this Coop. Dont you just LOVE fresh veggies!?
That's a buttload of fruits and veggies. I love me some good produce. Off to check out that site.
I, for one, am beyond annoyed...I plain ole pissed. It's time already! Dang it! Tomorrow. She's gotta call by Friday. Good things always on Fridays.
BTW, I ordered a few bigger sized cloth dipes and Canaan has been wearing them and I'm in LOVE. I'm doing full cloth AIO's. Love them!
Love ya!
First yes, WAY TOO long for a court date. For sure. When IS that happening? Don't they know they are making the blog world wait all too long to see a picture of this amazing boy? For reals.
Now, I love the fruits and veggies pic. Sir Silas over here can eat a bunch of bananas in two days so we'd probably need to shares to satisfy his insatiable banana appetite. So now I'm off to check out the great site because this veg head mama wants to make veggie pizza now. Thanks Tara, thanks. Now I have a craving.
Now I'm hungry. And bummed because you don't have a court date. C'mon court date!!
Yummy looking goodies! I'll have to look into that, what a great way to get your veggies!
I'm so sorry you don't have a court date yet, how very frustrating. I'm sure it's just around the corner, but I know that doesn't help. I got your blog address through the blog union group, so now I have to go read your blog and get to know you better!
Hugs... hope your court date news comes VERY soon!
Ya know, I think that going green and organic is great and all but in the tone of "Where's The Beef?!"...."Where's The Court Date?!?!" :-)
Blessings,
Kristy
We have only been waiting for 3 weeks for our court date and it's already hard!!!! I can only imagine that you're having a hard time. Hopefully it will come really soon!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for your court date.
Craig's stepmom & dad take fresh veggies to the farmers market in Stillwater every week. They've got awesome and very large gardens. We love it when they bestow us with their goodies...
Have to check out the co-op...
Cindy
1. you are such a healthy mom
2. that pizza sounds so good
3. I can't wait for you to make me one when I come home in two weeks!
Still just pictures on that stinkin' (but yummy and incredibly healthy) produce.
AGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Court date....COME ON ALREADY!!!!!
WE do the same with our organic fruits and veggies, and it has turned out to have saved us a lot of $$$$$$$$!!!!! Which really helps out!!!WE get to much for the 2 of us but for Christmas my mom gave us a juicer and it is great, the freah juice is wonderful and it uses a lot of the produce, so if you have to much maybe that will be a halpful idea. We will be praying for your court date!!!
Thank you for the prayers. All we know is in the apllication its says anything that was in the last 10 years and it has not been 10 years, but we will see...we are trying our best and its noy always easy to do but we just try not to worry about and tell our selves if its God's will for us to adopt then he will move this mountian for us. Thank you again for the prayers hope to saty in touch look forward to watching your journay to Ethiopia.
