No, this is not Malak.
(But that would be a great suprise! Suprise! We got a referral and picked him up in Africa and he looks just like Silas Bottomly!)
But this little guy, Silas, is the cutest ever...second only to Malak....assuming Malak is the cutest ever...since I have yet to see his face. And speaking of seeing his face...
I had a conversation with our friends over at Gladney and when I told them that we were getting really excited now that our referral is going to be soon, they said that the wait is closer to 5 months these days. (as opposed to the 3 we have been counting on) NOOOOOO! Just when I thought that we were so close to seeing our son's sweet face...but I guess they have told us all along that it could be 3 to five, so it is not their fault and of course I am not angry or anything...just bummed that it will be later rather than sooner and bummed that I let myself think it could be any day.
Oh well, I will live...we really have been blessed with a smooth adoption process, so a few more weeks won't kill me.

Malak, mommy loves you and I'm coming as fast as I can!

That's a big fat bummer about the extra weeks of waiting. But look at it this way--if you're expecting to get your referral in early March, getting it any earlier than that will be a nice surprise. (Okay, I know that's not really comforting when you're disappointed because you have to wait even LONGER for your little boy. But I tried!)

YES! Silas made the blog! This really is such a cute picture of you both!

We will just pray that Mary receives the info about Malak SOON....Sooner than she thinks! We need to start singing the song
"Belay, Ryan, and Abby why you buggin? Belay, Ryan, and Abby, Tara and Eric need some huggin!"

Amy, Josh, and Silas love the Silvestris!

I like to believe that it is still closer to 3 months....I'm in denial that this wait can last any longer. Praying your friends at Gladney call you very soon! Natalie

Stinky! I'm with everyone else - perhaps it will be sooner!
That picture with Silas T. is adorable. A little jealous that you get to squeeze on cutie Silas!

bum. er. That makes me sad that the wait is so long. I'm sad for you guys because once you get a timeline, you just expect it to be around then!

I have tricked myself into thinking that we will have our baby by June. I thought that would be worst case scenario. If we wait 5 months, that means we won't have our referral until May!! AHHHHH. I don't know if I can take it. I just need to go to bed.

I sure hope that the wait isn't that long as well! We're waiting with Gladney for a referral for an infant girl and are 9 weeks in. If it helps you, I've been stalking blogs for some time now to figure out when people get on the official list vs. when they get their referrals. For boys I haven't seen longer than 13 weeks and for girls not longer than 17 (not yet, anyways!). Here's hoping we're on the early side!

Just so ya know...the last wave of referrals came at about 3 months. I'm just saying...it could still be sooner than 5. We are hoping it is anyway. Stalking your blog daily!

For the love...it just seems like it shouldn't have to take so long. Sorry about the news, but I'm glad they told you so you have a heads up.

I'm really hoping for you that it is sooner than later- I KNOW that the waiting stinks! So much of it is expectations and of course we want to believe the earlier time frame:) Praying for you!

This is such a bummer but I found that when I embraced the waiting, it was such a sweet time of intimacy with the Lord. All I could do was run to him and say "YOU are enough Lord!" and he NEVER failed to bring peace. Peace in knowing this was the BEST plan, not just some situation that had my child tied up over there and me here but God was doing all and in the end I can say it was a good thing and he knit the perfect child together for us. Malak is yours and you can be so encouraged that God already planned him to be a Silvestri before his conception! Amazing and no one can take that truth away so relish it :o) Praying you'll be soon and we can rejoice in seeing this cutie.
Blessings!

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. The outpouring of support has been a lifeline. I hope your referral comes SOON.

I think you're, like, the comment Queen, now. Lucky. Sometimes I do have conversations with people and they say, "Oh, yah, I saw that picture on your blog!" And I'm like, "Oh, yah. Oh, yah. You're a reader. You're a reader." Or something like that but all inside my head so as not to appear too obnoxious.
