HAPPY FALL!

We were out at Eric's parents house the other day just hanging out with "the fam" and I love to be outside...but we had already taken a walk and couldn't think of anything else to do...until my father-in-law had the wonderful idea to let me drive his lawn mower!! Funnest day ever!! I was quite the country girl..although, I wasn't actualy mowing...just riding. But it was fun and it actualy went pretty fast! (at least it felt fast, Eric said I was only creeping along but I felt like I was zooming all over the place.)
Last year Andrew, Jenn and I (eric's sister and brother) were in the same state of bored-ness and had the great idea of riding a bike and pulling an old computer chair behind it. (it had wheels) That was also the funnest day ever! They live way out in the country in a beautiful neighborhood but there we were acting like 11 year olds...one of us riding on the bike and the other was the poor ginea pig being pulled at warp speeds in the computer chair. There were a few major crashes but we love to remember the good times in the old computer chair. (which by the way, didn't make it past that one fateful day- wheels were flying off as we skidded down the road)
I hope no one is reading this and thinking how immature I am...well, I'm sure you are, but think of it this way- Malak is going to have the best parents ever! We will always have a little adventure to go on or crazy times with "the fam"! I can't wait to do random fun things with him...I love him.

I am so glad fall is here! I have been waiting and waiting and now that it is officialy here it is still rediculously hot here in Oklahoma City and no sign of fall type weather in the near future. In OKC there are 2 seasons- Summer, which is so hot you want to shrivel up and die and Winter, which is so bitter cold that no amount of layers will protect you from the horrific wind. Oh, and I guess there is a week or 2 in Spring and Fall when we have normal weather and you can leave the house and not be frightened of death by freeze or fire. All that being said it is Fall and I am glad and it makes me happy. Pumpkin bread, spicey candels burning, crispy leaves, crispy weather (well, for a few days), we get to bust out our cozy sweaters and most of all, I love decorating for fall! I made the wreath (above) last year and thought I would share with you how easy it is to make- incase you need to do it yourself! I went to the craft store and bought a grapevine wreath (they are the brown wreaths that are just made of sticks) theyre super cheap, just a few bucks. Then I glued a fall leaf garland on the front of it. (just use hot glue to attatch everything) I also bought a few little extras to go into it- red berries and some fruit and glues those in. (they sell those just as little picks that are about 1 dollar each) And that is it! It is even easier than the letters that I made for Malak's room- I promise you don't have to be crafty to make this cute fall decor! And it looks so awsome and festive on our front door!

You go country girl!! I love those pics, looks like fun:-) Definitely not immature, who says that just because we are adults we can't be kids too!! Malak will be lucky to have you for parents!!

T, that was the best day of my life and as I read your post if could not stop thinking about how we never even considered the lawn mower! Why didn’t we think of that sooner?! The possibilities could have been so endless! When dad first got the lawn mower he let me drive it and I lost control of it and he had to chase after me (kind of like in your picture) and then after that he never let me ride it again…

Ok...you have to stop posting all these super cute crafty things. You know...now I have to go and try to make the fall wreath now. It doesn't help that the nearest craft store is a good hour from my house. You are crafty whether you want to admit it or not. I love your cheeriness :) I like the idea of the computer chair behind the bikes...sounds a little like some of the stunts on a popular show that refers to a donkey :-)...I'm embarrassed to say that I've seen it! Tara you are so cute and crafty. I do love how you decorate for all the seasons. I want to be like you...you know put up pumpkins and light scented candles. I just can't bring myself to decorate for seasons. I am way to practical and the idea of decorating for short periods of time and then having to do it all over again seems so overwhelming. I do so love it when I walk into other peoples houses and they are like your's. I am so torn...Decorate my house to be gloriously seasonal and add a little more work OR be a kill joy and keep it the same as it always is. Hmmmm

Do you think we can ride the tractor when we come to visit??

Dear crafty/glue gunning/mod podgeing/scrapbooking/cooking/creating/die cutting/scissor using little friend,

Your wreath is very cute. While the inside of my home is decorated for Fall, my front door remains bare. Your front door is beautiful. :) Love the lawn mowing pics.

What a great post! I love how much fun you all have and NO I didn't think immature - I thought amazing and what a fun family little Malak has waiting for him.

Love your front door - it was actually you that got me on the modge podging binge I've been on. So thank you for your crafty inspiration - I think my door needs some color now too. ;)

You're such a crafty girl. :) I need to make something for my front door because my old wreath is looking pretty ratty.

So, I think we've got a name. Sean still isn't sold on it but nothing else feels right. I think her name is gonna be Mercy. :)I'll blog about when I can convince him for sure. :)

I know that this is the wrong blog for this comment but I think you might as well combine blogs. How are you gonna work it? Remember when we were sisters and we talked on the phone? I want to call you tomorrow. Let me know if I do it!

I am not trying the wreath...go read my shout out to you on my blog and you'll understand why:-)

Do you have a real music player on myspace? That's what I used. I just copied the same code right into blogger. :) use the link off my musicplayer and it'll take you to that site.

I'm a real wierdo about the nursery being ready WAY in advance. I had Addison's nursery done before I even got pregnant. HA! I'm not going to be that OCD this time but I do want to get started on her bedding because it'll take me a while.

You're not immature, you're creative and fun. Huge difference! (Just don't drag Malak behind a bike until he's at least big enough to tell the doctors in the ER that Mommy didn't break all the bones in his body on purpose.)

I happen to know from personal experience that your wreath seemed easy to you because you have talent. I could follow your instructions to the letter and my wreath would look like a 5 year-old made it.
