Charles Charles Charles dear...

This picture has nothing to do with this post but I thought I would share since he is the most precious baby ever! This is Charles, whom I nanny for- he is about 13 months old now and I've been watching him everyday since he was 2 months old...were pretty much best friends. :) I love him so much and hope Malak is as entertaining and precious as he is. Maybe they will be buddies...

So, today I called the passport agency to find out where that little beauty is. (Since it has now been about 13 weeks) It turns out that they have missplaced one of my forms and can't process it until they recieve a new signed copy....ummm...this would be handy information for me to know! I just got back from Fed-Ex (where I sent off that paper) and my passport should be in my hands in the next week or so. (or so they say...they are not my most reliable friends right now) Hopefully, our month long standstill in this process will soon be coming to an end.

My deepest longning right now is that we can pick up Malak before Christmas...is this possible? Answer me all ye who have been through this. It is only July but I don't think our Homestudy has even made it to CIS yet and once it gets there it will be at least another 6 weeks...and there are still lots of other waiting periods and holdups. Here is why I wonder such things- We are going to head back up to Washington State (where i was raised and where Eric and I lived for 2 years) for Christmas to be with ALL of my family. This would be a perfect time for Malak to be able to spend good, long quality time with Grandma and Grandpa and all the aunts and uncles and cousins who are dying to meet him! There is also a rumor of a baby shower up there for him with all of our old friends and family and church buddies...oh, how great it would be for everyone to meet this child! (I know that this is not a life or death situation, but just something that would be oh so special) If anyone feels the need to send up a prayer on our behalf it would appreciated!

Tara, I feel your pain! I am really hoping that Shiloh will be home by Christmas, but it really could go either way. Know that we are praying for you guys, and Malak. Oh, and I am going to pray that you will get your passport before the 29th. I just feel for some reason that it will happen before then. Haha.

Oh, I want you to have your little boy before you come too! We will start praying that the paperwork speeds up.

What you went through with no one actually telling you about the misplaced paper is such a classic...every adoptive parent I know has gone through one of those moments of wanting to flick some yahoo on the forehead with an accompanying "duh, dufus."
I've had the exact same thought about hoping to travel before Christmas. Here's hoping we go together.

So sorry to hear they lost your paperwork- go figure, it's not like we have anything important going on over here!!! I still think there is deffinately hope to have Malak home by Christmas! What you said about going home for Christmas with the baby etc...is exactly the same situation for us- my family is in Buffalo and Geert's is in Idaho. We just love to bring our bundles of joy home for the holidays!!

Did you get my emails? Well I'm praying that your passport is here next week and you'll move through CIS lightening fast!

I love your little boy's room, it is so cute!!

I saw Gladney on ABC's primetime the other night. It was a story about 2 teenage girls who were staying at their dorm. It was pretty cool to see what Gladney does.

oh, i wish i couldve seen it! it really is an amazing place- you wouldnt believe how easy they make this whole adoption process. as much as i complain about slow passports and such, Gladney really does make it as smooth and simple as possible.

We are counting down until little Malak gets here. We pray all the time for November to be the month! And yes, there will be a shower, i'm sure!
See you soon, Malak!
